AS A MODERN BUSINESS CENTER, SUSTAINABILITY IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF SEAPORT PLACE'S DESIGN AND OPERATION.

In September 2009, Seaport East and Seaport West received LEED Silver certification for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance from the U.S. Green Building Council. The LEED for Existing Buildings Rating System measures the ability of building owners and property managers to "maximize operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impacts." The Seaport Hotel has also been recognized for its groundbreaking environmental program Seaport Saves.

The sustainability programs at Seaport East and Seaport West include efforts to improve energy and operational efficiency, water conservation, green cleaning and purchasing, as well as single stream recycling. Seaport Place is also located within a busy transportation hub and encourages and enables smart commuting habits with an on-site subway station, water taxis, shuttle services and bicycle racks for tenants.

Seaport East was recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with the ENERGY Star label with a score of 76, making it one of the most efficient in its peer class. Seaport Place’s Westport Park features one of Boston’s first environmentally conscious green roofs, which reduces energy costs and creates an attractive outdoor space.
